Our Shipping Process

Hatching Eggs

We take great care in inspecting each and every egg before it is carefully packaged. Our eggs are intentionally left unwashed to preserve the natural anti-bacterial coating provided by the mother. Occasionally, you may notice a slight tarnish on the eggs, which is perfectly normal and does not affect their ability to hatch. This is a result of the natural materials used in our nest boxes.

When it comes to packing our poultry and waterfowl hatching eggs, we take special measures to ensure their safety and environmental friendliness. Each egg is individually wrapped and secured in Sylvacurl, a biodegradable, reusable, and compostable material that is not only safe for the environment but also provides excellent protection during transit. Quail eggs, on the other hand, are placed in a sturdy cardboard carton, surrounded by the same eco-friendly Sylvacurl material.

By utilizing our innovative packing methods, we have eliminated the need for double boxing or the use of foam inserts, which are detrimental to the environment. Our approach significantly reduces the risk of breakage during shipping, resulting in an impressively low breakage rate. With our careful packaging techniques, we have almost zero breakage with shipped eggs.

Rest assured that when you receive our eggs, they have undergone thorough inspection and have been packaged with the utmost care using sustainable materials. We strive to provide you with the highest quality hatching eggs while minimizing our impact on the environment.

Chicks & Starters

We prioritize the safety and care of our baby chicks during transit. That’s why we exclusively offer Priority Express Mail options, providing a 1-2 day delivery window via USPS. Each baby chick is shipped in a spacious, specially designed bird box that includes all the necessary comforts for a safe journey.

Our team takes a personalized approach to packaging each order, considering factors such as weather conditions, transit times, and the number of babies in the shipment. We even incorporate heat or cooling products when needed. To ensure a stress-free experience, we use a natural stress spray and add herbs for calming and nutrition. You’ll also find supplements and instructions under the lid of the box, including a probiotic and vitamin B supplement for their water upon arrival.

We’re committed to giving our chicks the best possible start in life. That’s why we don’t ship newborn babies. We observe and care for each bird until we believe they’re strong enough to travel, especially for more delicate breeds like Seramas or Quail. Additionally, your order invoice and any other necessary items will be included under the lid of the box.

We’ll keep you informed every step of the way, sending an email notification when your order is ready to ship. Please note that shipping times may vary depending on factors like weather, state paperwork, or other possible delays. Nonetheless, we ship live birds all over the United States, wherever the US Postal Service goes (some restrictions may apply). Trust Sugar Feather Farm for a safe, personalized, and stress-free experience when ordering live birds.
