Peter Brown ~ The Chicken Doctor
Peter Brown, often known as The Chicken Doctor, has dedicated over 58 years to poultry health, making him a leading expert in backyard poultry and small flock care. He holds an A.A.S. degree in Poultry Science and has extensive self-taught expertise in poultry biology. His areas of specialization include diagnosing and managing poultry diseases, avian embryo development, and incubation techniques. He also explores natural and homeopathic remedies for poultry.
Peter was a regular speaker on the Chicken Whisperer Radio Show, sharing his profound knowledge with listeners. He founded First State Veterinary Supply where you can get all your fowl medical supplies.
Additionally, Peter has contributed to poultry health sections in Fancy Fowl USA, Practical Poultry, and The Chicken Whisperer Magazine.
Nicolle Ferrier ~ The Fowl Guru
Nicolle, known as The Fowl Guru, brings over 20 years of experience in raising animals and is a self-taught expert in fowl. She actively contributes to webinars, articles, and university studies, drawing on her education and experience working alongside poultry scientists and fowl nutritionists.
As the co-founder of Sugar Feather Farm LLC and a mother of five, she also consults for civil engineering firms. Nicolle is a Certified Vermont Master Composter (intern) and a volunteer for various charity organizations. She mentors several farms, participates in the FACT Mentorship program, and supports the Livestock Conservancy and Pavlovskaya Conservation Association as the East Coast Director.
Sugar Feather Farm is affiliated with multiple organizations, including the American Poultry Association and the American Pastured Poultry Producers Association, contributing volunteer efforts widely. Nicolle also provides mentorships and internships for special needs individuals and students in her community.
