Favaucana Starter Pullet

Have you ever heard of the Favaucana Chicken? These unique birds come in a delightful array of feather colors and builds. The Favaucanas are a special blend of Salmon Faverolles and Ameraucanas, resulting in a striking appearance and fantastic temperament. At Sugar Feather Farm, we have meticulously developed our own line of these stunning beauties.

Beyond their captivating looks, we’re thrilled to report that Favaucanas are by far our best egg layers. In fact, they consistently outproduce many of the more traditional “production” type birds here on the farm. These remarkable hens lay a spectrum of egg colors ranging from soft tans and rich browns to beautiful blues and greens, each with their own textures and blooms. Their reliable egg production, combined with their charming personalities, makes them a wonderful addition to any flock.

The Favaucanas were developed in 2013 through the crossing of Faverolles and Ameraucanas. While the specific origins of this unique breed remain a bit of a mystery, their creation reflects a rich blend of characteristics from both parent breeds, notable for their friendly temperaments and colorful eggs.
